Resources and Tools for Elementary Math Specialists and Teachers

In elementary school students are introduced to statistics concepts, from data displays (bar graphs, frequency tables, line plots, etc) to data analysis (mean, median, mode, range, minimum, and maximum). Much of the time these lessons can be really fun for the students. What is the most exciting lesson or project that you have done with statistics in elementary school?

Fifth graders seemed to like this project. They went home and got the amps or watts data (with parent assistance) from some of their major appliances. In class they converted from volts/amps to watts, estimated usage and converted to kW and the monthly cost. It was interesting to compare appliances of the same type and their range of costs.
