Staged questioning

This discussion is part of a collection:CCSS Practice Standard 3

Long before I taught math exclusively, I taught all subjects. I remember having a poster on the wall with sentence starters for talking about a story that we had read in class. Has anyone done a similar thing to promote the right kind of math conversations? Do you think it benefits students to have types of questions to ask, rather than come up with their own?

Thanks Path for those great suggestions! I will definitely need to check them out!
