After quickly displaying groups of objects on a ten frame, she asks her students to describe the ways that they see the objects grouped.       Great visual learning

    • I like how this strategy gets students to start putting objects into groups to count. Students have to create or discover their strategy for how to identify the number quickly. I also like how the teacher has students explain their thinking, this is especially helpful for the students who made not have found a useful strategy yet.

    • This is a wonderful lesson to watch. Mrs. Lattimer listens to the children's comments, and that also fuels the discussion (the child who said "It's still going to be 8").
