Improper to Proper Fraction Conversions

In this lesson plan, students use recipes to investigate how to add two fractions with like denominators to produce improper fractions and then interpret the meaning of the result by converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and finally mixed numbers back to improper fractions. Included are two Cyberchase video clips (Crumpets Recipe and Reclaiming the Power), three worksheets, and two assessments as well as an answer key.
