Fractions on the number line (grade 3)

This is a sample PARCC assessment task based on CCSS grade 3 fraction standards. In this interactive five-part task students reason about fractions used to represent part of a whole or a location on a number line, compare fractions with and without models, and construct arguments to defend their decisions. Included are the alignments to the CCSS, a scoring rubric, and background on the task itself.

      Great example of what is likely to be on the new assessments

    • This is a great example of what we are likely to see on the new assessments. Especially with the shift in focus in third grade to representing fractions on a numberline.
