Data Clusters and Distributions

In this 4 minute Cyberchase video students learn to recognize the characteristics of good data collection and the implications of data clusters. The accompanying lesson plan includes data displays through which students must analyze the data collection techniques and predict the meaning of the data distributions. The lesson plan includes two assessment options (one with a table and one with a scatterplot) and a student worksheet.

    • I really like how this activity shows data clusters in ways that are not purely graph related. It really helps to get students to think about data distributions and the fact that they have meaning.
