Adventures in Statistics

This Web unit describes a project involving fifth grade students and the areas of the fifth and sixth grade classrooms. Included in the unit are measurement, graphing, computation, data analysis, and presentation of results. The lesson descriptions and extensions, student worksheets and charts, figures, and tables appeared as an article in the NCTM journal Teaching Children Mathematics.

      Great idea for authentic assessment

    • I think this unit because it can be used at the pace of the students, as a project when the lesson is finished while reteaching may be occuring with other students. I really wish the documents were able to be edited, I don't like to have to recreate things, but I also don't want another teacher's name or school on all of the worksheets.
